Wednesday 19th

We decided that we should spend tonight outside the workshop in Rutherford so that we can be timely in the morning.

We went to Cessnock and picked up a wineries map. The McGuigans winery had a tour at an appropriate time so we went there. The wine was OK and we filled up our cellar (the esky) with a selection of the best they had to offer.

Tonight we will test the new generator as it will be cold and we will run the fan heater and the battery charger all evening the CPAP machine all night on the fully charged batteries. We'll see if it is capable.

Thursday 20th

All went extremely well and we had a most comfortable night.

The plan was to fit air helper springs to all four wheels and to correct the wheel alignment.

In the event there was no room to fit the rear springs so we shall have to find someone to modify or replace the grey water tank so that we can have them fitted some time in the future.

The wheel alignment showed incorrect camber on both sides so the axle was bent. The first campfire advice I had had was to get the axle bent and my reaction was to wonder about the sanity or, at least, the technical competence of the advisor. If the advice had been to get the wheel alignment checked or get the camber corrected I might have taken more notice.

The work took all day and the road test revealed that the worn tyres were interacting with the now correct alignment to cause a pull to the left. It was decided to rotate the wheels in the morning.

We spent the night in the workshop yard.
