Just to prove that I don't lie around sleeping until late, I took a picture of the sunrise this morning.
We left Jandowae to drive west to Chinchilla and Miles.
The plan was to stop in Miles early in the day and to visit the historic museums in Miles but tired feet and the need to finish a few modifications and repairs put paid to that.
It may be of interest to know that the Great Dividing Range, which we all think of as being a coastal range, takes a huge curve inland from Cairns to Toowoomba, getting to be 400 km (240 miles) from the coast north of Charleville and going almost due east a few kilometres north of Miles.
The Condamine River which rises just east of Warwick on the New South Wales Queensland border, and which drains the Darling Downs, passes through Chinchilla and goes west of here, turning into the Balonne River and then the Culgoa River before flowing into the Darling.
