We had only a relatively short way to go to get to Brisbane and we set off relatively early, arriving at the caravan park at about eleven and at Sarah's house at about noon.
Kelly was off school as she had had a temperature the previous night. She seemed pleased to see us. Ross was at kindy and though a little shy when he first got home, also seemed pleased to see us.
Sarah had arranged to go to a scrapbooking evening at Jodie's. Jean decided to join in so I took them in the Motley, parked in the street, fed myself, did a little work, watched a little TV, fell asleep, and when Jean had had enough, drove back to the caravan park.
We did the laundry and had the Marretts to afternoon outside the Motley at the caravan park.
Lay day.
We made appointments for Jean to have a breast screen and to see the doctor about her diabetes.
The doctor wasn't alarmed and we managed to get her to nominate the blood sugar level which would cause alarm.
Jean had a blood test to check her historical blood sugar levels.
I updated both web sites and sent some info to Alain about my iBook-CDMA phone problem.
It rained so we veged out.
The Motley was booked in for a major service. We took a courtesy car so that we would not be trapped in Aspley.
To Patricks Rd. Jean did scrapbooking with Sarah, Karen and Possum while I did some chores.
We had to pick up the Motley before Mazda closed so we spent the evening watching TV.
Jean had to go to the doctor to get the results of the blood test so we stayed in Aspley.
The test results were a little high and we managed to convince the doctor to give a referral to an Endocrinologist. The first available appointment was 31st July. As it happened, we had arranged to be in Brisbane that weekend for a school fundraising Trivia Night so we can kill two birds with one stone. We will have seven weeks to get to Canberra for the next rally so we won't be rushed.
We went to Arana Hills to shop and to go to the Community Fair with Sarah and the kids.
The kids had a great time on an unusual jumping castle which had a maze, a rope ladder climb and a big slide. They ran round many times for another go and eventually slowed to a walk and then to a complete stop.
We repaired to Patricks Road for dinner.
We went to the new Cafe Zanetti at Mitchelton for brunch and to the Summit on Mt Coot-tha to listen to Night and Day in the afternoon. They have some good new songs, the view is spectacular and the atmosphere is very good. The band complain that there isn't enough room on the bandstand but they seem to manage. This was there last gig after four months at this venue and they paid a special tribute to their loyal fan club, that is Sarah.
Jean had an appointment at the physiotherapist to try and ease the sciatica she has been suffering since the new year.
After the visit to the physio, we went to Patricks Rd. Jean made some new clothes and I made some lunch.
Sarah had an evening meeting so we babysat until Ian came home from work.
Laundry and Motley washing day. After that I needed some rest!.
We spent some time at Patricks Road. I mended the sliding doors on the wardrobes.
Jean had appointments at the physio at Arana Hills and at the dentist at Aspley. I mended the bathroom door at Patricks Road while Jean, Sarah and Karen did scrapbooking.
