We stopped at Jimboomba to do the laundry and stock up on food for a stay at Sherwood Forest. I have to get a Chapter newsletter out and the printer is still with Keryn.
When we arrived we found Ken and Wendy Conley, Pip and Mell Powell and the Chalkies all in residence which made for a lively happy hour round the camp fire.
I spent the best part of the day trying to get files from the iBook to the Chapter laptop PC. The preferred means is via email and I had to send the email to several different addresses and try to connect the laptop via the mobile phone. Eventually I recovered the files from my account at Ozemail because Optusnet was not responding.
On the upside, I did crack the procedure for connecting the laptop to the mobile phone.
Rest day.
We went into Beaudesert in the Motley to shop and fill up with water.
The Conleys have left and Jan and George Reed and Jenny and John McGuire have arrived.
Pip had shot a grey Kangaroo and the plan was to cook soup, casseroles, steaks and roast roo for dinner in camp ovens. I offered to do roast vegetables which was good as a few of our number are vegetarians. I did potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin and carrots and I also boiled some peas and made some gravy.
The food was really good. Some found the roast roo a bit tough but the soup and the casseroles were delicious and the vegetables went down a treat. Everyone was happy with the meal.
Big Al visited for lunch from Mudgeeraba where he had been staying with the Browns while the Tollhursts were staying with Sarah.
In the evening, I finished the drafting of the newsletter.
We drove to Brisbane in the Little Motley for an appointment with Jean's Endocrinologist. It took an hour and a quarter to get to the address and a quarter of an hour to find the doctor's rooms.
Jean had been dreading the results but was remarkably surprised to find that every indication had improved dramatically since last time. The Doctor was very, very pleased and advised to carry on as whatever we are doing is working well.
I had to go into the city to pick up the Chapter Presidents computer which had been failing to display anything. It is now OK though they claimed that there was no fault found.
We rang the Williams but there was no reply so we rang Ferny Hills only to find that they we planning to lunch at Cafe Zanetti. We joined them and had a pleasant meal.
Returning to Sherwood Forest, we found that the weather had closed in so we all retired to our motorhomes before dark.
We went into town to get fresh water and do the shopping. Keryn had taken the chapter laser printer into the Solarsystems office to do some of the printing. I had to buy mailing labels. The size she had used in the past were unavailable so I got some similar and will reset the label print file to suit.
In the evening we had dinner under the stars with a very bright Mars dominating the sky.
