[Earlier Visits]
Saturday 13th

We needed a break from the city and our remaining appointments in Brisbane are not for a couple of weeks, so we decided to visit the Procters one last time at Carters Ridge. Philip and Helene have sold the property and are moving to a place in Cooroy, and we will all be heading off to Barcaldine in a few weeks, so we won't get another chance to stay in Koorunga where we have so many wonderful times.

We arrived at lunchtime, settled in and spent the afternoon and evening with the Procters.

Sunday 14th

In the morning we helped the Procters with some chores and in the afternoon we veged out because Jean wasn't feeling well and I wanted to watch the motor racing.

Monday 15th

I had seen an ad on TV for a Kenwood car radio/cassette player, CD stacker and remote control at a great discount at the Car Sound place in Maroochydore. We drove there in the Little Motley, checked out the deal and bought the thing. We eventually found the way into the Sunshine Plaza and went in for lunch and a little shopping. On the way back to Carters Ridge, we stopped at Cooroy to buy groceries and meat.

Marjorie and Robert in Blueprint arrived at Koorunga unexpectedly in the afternoon. Robert had been doing some work for Doug MacKenzie, a motorhome builder of uncertain reputation but Robert decided he had had enough.

We had a long and pleasant happy hour on the front deck of the "big house".

Tuesday 16th

I spent the best past of the day working out how to fit the new radio gear while Jean did some sewing for Helene and for herself.

Wednesday 17th

We went to Cooroy to shop and have coffee and we drove to the Botanical Gardens to have a sticky beak at the Procters new house. It is virtually hidden from the road but we surveyed the surroundings. The Botanical Gardens is almost opposite and a park on the shores of Lake MacDonald is just a few hundred metres along the road. It is much more suburban than Carters Ridge but it is a lot closer to town which makes going to the Post Office every day much easier.

Thursday 18th

in the morning I fitted the new radio and in the afternoon I cooked curry. There were eight for dinner and everyone was complementary. .

Friday 19th

I spent all day installing the CD auto changer. We now have a complete system which will seek local radio station while we are on the road, play tapes, play six CDs at a time, and it will do all of this in the motorhome as well as in the cab. The remote control makes all this easy whether we are driving or parked.

Saturday 20th

We went into Cooroy to shop and to do the laundry. In the afternoon, I took a day off any kind of work.

Sunday 21st

I was taken with a severe unwellness and stayed in the Motley all day.

Monday 22nd

The sickness is still with me so I stayed indoors all day. I did finish the update of the family history database. Jean was on duty in the Camps Australiawide office as Philip and Helene had to go out to finalise the purchase of their new motorhome, Kinky. They arrived back in time for happy hour and we admired the beaut new ( well nearly new) black, silver and white machine.

Tuesday 23rd

I was no better today so not much was done. I went into Cooroy to do the shopping. We discovered that Philip had been suffering from a bad tick bite which had caused him considerable suffering since the weekend.

Wednesday 24th

I felt somewhat better today and got a couple of chores done. The CD changer installation is now complete and I mended the fixings on the awning rail ready for the new sail which should be ready next week. The TV antenna started to play up. I need to check the connections during the day.

Thursday 25th

I was feeling a good deal better and pottered around a bit. Jean took the last opportunity to go swimming in the pool as we won't be coming back here again. Mike and Chris returned from their holiday at Rainbow Beach and we had a pleasant communal afternoon tea.

The Procters got the keys to the new house today so we started the move using the blue van for the wine and Philip's car trailer for the water bed, the work benches from the shed and some other awkward stuff. I went over in the Little Motley and helped unload, shopping in Cooroy on the way back.

Jean stayed at Carters Ridge to man the Camps Australiawide office. I got back in time for lunch and had a quiet afternoon.

Philip and Helene came back in the blue van for a load of plants so we helped with that.

Philip and I also loaded up some stuff onto my car trailer for transporting to Cooroy tomorrow.

In the evening. I cooked a couple of dream pots of stew for dinner tomorrow night.

It is really sad that this is the last time we will be able to stay at Koorunga. We have had so many good times here and we have always felt incredibly welcome.
