I decided that the advice I had had from the Tourist Info Centre was probably just a policy of trying to deter camping so I headed for McPhillamy Park. I found a nice level site well away from the picnic areas and the ablutions.
I had a peaceful night!.
I worked diligently on the spring cleaning, working in bursts and watching the cricket in between.
The TV was playing up so I had to do a bit of investigation. The conclusion I came to was that the masthead amplifier has an intermittent fault. I went to Dick Smiths to buy the parts necessary to modify the system to allow a second antenna connection and, given that the local transmitter is on the same mountain as the one I'm camping on, it came good.
