The work on the gas system was completed by 11 o'clock and we finished the registration by 12.30.
We set off to Nanango for the Highway Wanderers gathering at the Wood's caravan park, arriving in time for happy hour. There were plenty of people already there, some new acquaintances and some old friends.
In the morning I did a bit of shopping in Nanango and in the afternoon I did some work on the Wichettys TV antenna which had never worked satisfactorily for them. I was pleased to be able to return it to full working order and Graeme was pleased to be able to watch the cricket.
Happy hour started early as I was as dry as a very dry thing and I imbibed several beers and some g&t. In the evening the park laid on a sausage sizzle and we washed that down with a bottle of Bethany Chardonnay. By bed time I was well past the plimsol line with alcohol.
The Chapter laid on a bacon and eggs breakfast which was very good.
After morning tea, Helene organised a Navigation Seminar. This was very entertaining. The essential message was "You must trust your navigator". She had set up an obstacle course and each couple had a tyre which had to be "driven" round the course without knocking over any markers. The difficulty arose because the "driver" was blind-folded. Much hilarity resulted and some lessons were learned. One poor navigator kept confusing left and right and, in desperation resorted to hand signals which were seen by all except, of course, the "driver".
It being pretty hot most of us spent a good part of the day in the swimming pool.
Happy hour started out in the rec room but it was so noisy that we had to move outside into what shade we could find.
More of the same.
Peolple gradually left to go about their business. Those that were left continued to have happy hour every evening. There was all kinds of activity including several long nights of Scrabble, much swimming, and some repair and modification of motorhomes.
On Sunday night it started to rain but even this didn't dampen the spirits.
Some of our visitors had such a good time that they joined the chapter before they left.
