We rang to check on the state of the roads at Sherwood Forest and, though they had had a lot of wind, there wasn't much rain and, as the sun was shining, it would be no problem getting in.
We reached Sherwood Forest by lunch time and I handed over the now working LCII to Mel much to her delight. At happy hour, I celebrated my success by breaking out the bottle of port Pip and Mel had bought me to thank me for getting their computer system back.
Mel was the founding President of an organisation called CUPS - Computerless UnPowered Society. With her generator and her new found liking for Macintosh computers, she had had to start a new organisation called SAUCERS - Select Apple Users Club Expecting ReSpect or in some minds - Select Apple Users Club Expecting Repairs Soon!.
The bad weather had all gone away and we were blessed with one of Queensland's beautiful winter days with clear blue sky and gentle sunshine. In the evening we had a big campfire to ward off the evening chill.
On Saturday we had an indulgence day brunch. Graeme and Betty Grubb turned up in the afternoon and we had a lot of lively conversation around the fire. I had put a stew in the camp oven on the remains of tthe camp fire and it turned out really well. It marvelous what a little practice can do.
I had bought a new fan motor for the bathroom hatch to replace a noisy one. My assumption was that there was a very slight bend in the shaft which created a tiny imbalance that made it wobble a bit. I fitted the new motor and fan and now it is beautifully quiet.
On Sunday we all went to the club in Beaudesert for lunch. It was a good deal better than the Veresdale Pub and we celebrated by playing the pokies, winning the cost of the meal!.
