We needed to go back to Brisbane to do Tai Chi, visit the hearing aid people, the periodontist, buy some plumbing bits, and to do some more work on the Motley.
We didn't get away until midday but we had lunch at Wyllie Park and then settled in at Lawnton Showground for a few days.
I went out early to do the laundry before going to Lutwyche to the Tai Chi class. We returned to Lawnton via Cafe Zanetti.
Some friends from the motorhoming community dropped by as a break from house renovating and we caught up with lots of news.
I had developed a cold which probably explains why I have been a little under par lately. Perhaps I should be doing some Tai Chi every day instead of just once a week.
Al came to Lawnton to use my tools to do some major work on the Beep. He had bought reconditioned drive shafts and we fitted them without too much drama. We also fixed several other minor problems so he went home pleased as punch.
We decided on another rest day. We had a moring tea visit from some motorhoming friends who have just come back from a stay in Sydney.
I checked the family tree against all the data on the computer and I fixed a few problems with the images. I will have to get all the hard copy original research from Patricks Road before I can proceed.
Jean went shopping with Sarah and Jackie for clothes for Sarah's graduation ceremony. The went to Adele Ravellese in Ascot where they had successfully shopped for posh clothes before. Willma, the sales lady, was most helpful and they arranged for three garments to be made to order. They didn't have material in the right colours in stock so Jean asked that they get in swatches of suitable material for checking before they proceeded.
While all this was happening, I went to the periodontist and then to buy some stuff from the ship's chandler.
Another rest day. I had forgotten some things when I went to the ship's chandler and Brisbane was closed for the show so I drove to Scarborough, not the one in Yorkshire or the one in WA, and bought the missing bits for the plumbing installation.
We went to Brookside to do a little shopping, to Cafe Zanetti for lunch, and to Patricks Road to do use the ADSL line to update the website with the new family tree.
I picked up my original genealogy research data and started work on the ultimate check on all the data in the new family tree web page. I found several errors so it's a good thing that I decided to do all this work.
Up at sparrow fart to do the laundry and then to Lutwyche to the Tai Chi class.
We had lunch with Sarah at Cafe Zanetti and Jean went to the hearing aid place for a check up.
Jean and Sarah went to Adele Ravellese to check on the material for the clothes they were making for Sarah. The colours were wrong and Adele, the proprietor, very brusquely told them that that they "should go away and think about it" so they did. The result of the "think" was that they cancelled the order which was worth more than I spend on clothes in a year. The other things that Jean had considered buying were also cancelled. Both Sarah and Jean were upset but we determined that they could buy the material themselves and that someone else could make the clothes.
Jean went shopping with Sarah and I babysat the kids while Max went to the gym.
The shopping was most successful. The right material in the right colours was purchased and an arrangement was made to see a local dressmaker who had been recommended. All will come out well and the money saved will be used for other things. Adele Ravellese might be a top Brisbane shop but it gets a massive negative recommendation from us.
It is still blowing half a gale in Brisbane so we veged out, snug in the Motley.
I did a bit more work on the family tree and did the final revision of the proposed CMCA Self-containment Policy.
Sarah asked Jean to go with her to the new dressmaker so we went to Patricks Road after breakfast.
Sarah had to go to working the afternoon and Max had a class so we stayed at Patricks Road to babysit until Sarah got back at seven o'clock.
Jean went to town with Sarah to buy the necklace she had picked out for her graduation gear.
We were joined at Lawnton by three Tasmanian motorhomes so we had a lively happy hour.
We went to Patricks Road to babysit Ross who was home from school with a bad cough. we had to be there very early but we got back to the Motley in time for lunch.
Up late and out to Kallangur to do the laundry.
The weather closed in a bit so we spent the afternoon knitting and finishing the check of the family tree. Sarah had suggested that it was full of errors but I checked every entry and every original source and found only a handfull of things to fix. I did some style modifications on the web pages which make it look better but which will create problems if ever I want to do a major update of the database.
We went to Tai Chi and on for lunch to Cafe Zanetti. We went to Patricks Road to access the internet to upload the latest changes to the family tree pages of the Motley website.
With the Tasmanians gone, we had a cosy happy hour with the Gallands.
