Thursday 30th Dec

Having got over the colly-wobbles, I wanted to leave the city so we headed north for a few days in the peace and quiet of Cooroy.

The Procter's were hard at work finalising "The Book". Craig was helping Philip with the artwork for the cover.

Friday 31st Dec

I woke up with a rash rapidly developing on my left wrist. I couldn't tell whether it was dermatitis or some more serious infection problem so I rang for an appointment with the local GP. I couldn't get to see him until late afternoon so I drove to the hospital at Noosaville. The triage nurse thought it was probably dermatitis and offered to arrange an appointment with a local GP. I had had a call from the GP in Cooroy offering me an earlier appointment so I accepted that. His diagnosis was irritation dermatitis probably caused by the thumb splint, maybe because of some unknown contamination. He prescribed some cortisone cream and a rest from the splint until the rash had fully cleared up.

We dined on fish we had brought from Brisbane cooked in tandoori sauce which went down well.

Saturday 1st Jan

The new year dawned clear and sunny which would have great predictive significance to those who believe that there is a cosmic plan which is directed to making their own personal life better. We skeptics choose to believe that luck, like most things in life, is random and good comes only from doing good.

I went to Cooroy to do a bit of shopping. The newsagent was open but everyone else was shut so I had to go to the Spar supermarket in Tewantin.

Lenore, Philip's daughter, and her partner, Craig, are heading back to Melbourne tomorrow so I had offered to cook a big Indian feast as a farewell.

I had already cooked some beef curry yesterday and did some dhal, some Korma's Fried Potatoes, and prepared some tandoori chicken and some bhajias during the day.

The dinner was much appreciated and I basked in the compliments.

Sunday 2nd Jan

Lenore and Craig headed off on their journey to Melbourne long before we got up.

The day was bright and clear again but we took it very easy anyway.

In the evening we dined on the remains of last night's curry which was still pretty good.

Monday 3rd Jan

We needed some supplies so we went to Noosaville.

On the way, Jean said she wanted to visit the Tinbeerwah Lookout so we took a bit of a detour. The lookout is 500 m up a very steep path from the carpark but the view is spectacular with a great panorama from Mt Cooroora to Mt Coolum with all of Noosa, Noosaville, Tewantin, Lake MacDonald, and Booreen Point in the foreground.

Noosaville was awash with people shopping after the holiday so we left as quickly as we could, had a milkshake at our favourite cafe and drove back to the calm and peace of the Procter's house in (North) Cooroy.

Philip and Helene have an imminent deadline to get copy to the guy who is doing the page setting so we left them to get on with it.

Tuesday 4th Jan

Another day of sunshine and high temperatures.

I needed to get some outstanding work done but it was too hot to do outside jobs so I looked through the to do list for things I could do inside the Motley. The only task was "Finish the curtains" so I got the sewing machine out and set to work. Making the four new curtains took some time but putting them up was a tad more demanding. The finjal result is good.

Jean saw the sewing machine out and found a few other little jobs that needed doing.

Wednesday 5th Jan

I started to clear up the corner of my seat at the dinette and it turned into a major reorganisation of the baskets of stuff under the settee and in the various boxes which inhabit the driver's and passenger's seat when we are parked up and which have to be moved when we go on the road. The final result is a great improvement with just a couple of boxes to be left at Patricks Road. I might have some trouble finding stuff for a while but I guess I'll get used to it.

We went to Cooroy to do the shopping and bought some fish for the four of us for dinner.

Thursday 6th Jan

Jean went to Gympie with Helene to do some major shopping while I went to Cooroy to do the laundry.
