The fridge is not able to keep the freeze under 0°C so I decided that we should go to Melbourne to try and get it seen to as soon as possible. We bade farewell to Pip and Mell and to Dot and Syd headed off.
We had to go into St Arnaud to dump the black water and to fill the fresh water tanks. The tap was agonisingly slow and we needed 200 l so it took forever. We set off to Avoca just after 12 o'clock. We stopped for lunch at a rest area on the Sunraysia Highway and set off again. We reached a place called Ballan after three and left the highway to go to a caravan park listed in "The Book" only to find that it was run by a religious group of volunteers and there was no-one in the office. We took the liberty of taking a site on the basis that they were nearly empty and we could settle up before we leave tomorrow so we thought they wouldn't mind.
The fridge which had been cactus at lunch time was getting somewhat better when we stopped in the afternoon. I'll wait till tomorrow to see if it needs repair or just needed a shake-up.
We had a visit from the guy who runs the caravan park who was happy for us to have stopped and who invited us to tell all our friends that we are always welcome.
By the evening the fridge was trying to freeze the freezer so I had to clean out the slush from the old ice before it turned into mountains of rock. By morning the fridge was back to normal temperature and the freezer was trying hard to refreeze all the contents so the problem must be in the gas system.
