I took a rest day after the big painting effort to let my aching body recover.
In the afternoon, I moved the remaining furniture into the store room ready for the carpet layers.
The carpet layer came fairly early. I vacuumed the floors after they had removed the old carpet. They finished the job before lunch.
I need to fix the paint on the skirting boards and the doors need a fair bit of restoration but it is beginning to look pretty good.
The bedroom suite was supposed to be delivered tomorrow but they claim that they only come to Barraba on Fridays so we will have to wait a few more days before we can sleep indoors.
We went to Tamworth to buy doors for the front of the house. The cost was more than I had budgeted but we had determined that the doors had to look authentic and Jean had her heart set on doors with leadlight panels. We chose a double glass panel door for the main entrance and doors of matching style but with an arch glass panel at the top for the other two rooms. They will come with brass locks and handles but I will have to fit them, stain them and varnish them.
We had lunch at our favourite cafe and I got the email and downloaded some software updates.
In the morning, I started the work on the renovation of the kitchen.
When I moved the furniture back into the dining room, I noticed that on of the legs on the table had come loose. I spent the afternoon doing the repair.
I took the morning off. In the afternoon I attacked the kitchen renovation and made some progress in taking out the wall between the kitchen and the laundry. I need to take advice before I set to work on the structural stuff.
The bedroom suite was delivered at eight o'clock before the frost had thawed and the before the mist had burned off.
I put the bed together and set up the CPAP machine and we plan to sleep indoors tonight. I was surprised to find that the wardrobes came as flatpacks. I didn't make much progress with the assembly but I should have them finished in a day or two.
That's three rooms done, only the kitchen and bathroom to go!
Jean had an appointment with the doctor to check on the new drugs.
We had a good night's sleep in the new bed. It was warm and cosy. I had set the electric heater to warm the room for an hour before bed time and before getting up time so we didn't suffer from a frosty floor.
In the morning, we went shopping and did some chores.
In the afternoon, I finished the assembly of the first wardrobe with help from Jean who provided both good advice and an extra pair of hands.
