Tuesday 13th

We packed up and left the showground relatively early. I had to take on more diesel and we stopped at Wyllie Park to dump the black water. We arrived at the Procter's house in time for a late morning tea.

Their pool builders are due in today so we parked up by the fence on the front lawn to keep out of their way.

We had dinner with Philip and Helene and talked till late.

Wednesday 14th

The pool builders arrived at eight to start work in earnest, We spent most of the day just watching the digging. They were a very professional team and very obliging. They took great care and kept all the rock they dug out which they will use later to make a rockery for Helene.

I cooked some curry and some dhal for dinner tomorrow night.

Hazel and Graham came to spend a few days before the rally so we had a bigger happy hour.

Thursday 15th

I prepared the rest of the food for dinner.

Sarah rang and invited us to lunch at Pomona. We drove to town and picked up the convoy of her and her friend Penny and headed for Pomona. We were a bit surprised to drive straight through and then straight through Cooran as well.

We finally reached Penny's brothers house which is a little biodynamic hobby farm and met Ian and Lee who were to be our hosts for lunch. Another friend of Lee's arrived so we were twelve for lunch including the four kids! We ate a leg of one of the pigs which Ian had roasted in the barbecue and lots of salad. The conversation was very diverse, high powered, and funny.

We made our apologies and thanks for the excellent hospitality shown to a couple of total strangers and for the excellent food and drove back to Cooroy in time for happy hour.

Dinner was good. We had broccoli bhajias, beef curry, tandoori chicken, dry potato curry, and dhal with cucumber raita, banana and coconut, lime pickle and mango chutney. Phil provided a very nice ten year old shiraz. Hazel had made one of her favourite desserts so we dined very well.

Friday 16th

I spent the morning writing an article about the Self-containment Scheme for the Wanderer . I was able to send it to my colleague for review and I got my first response during the afternoon.

The pool is now finished. The landscaping still has to be done but the installers left the site in remarkably good condition.

In the evening we dined on leftovers which was pretty good.

Saturday 17th

The day was clear and bright but windy. We did some laundry and some shopping in preparation for the trip to Maryborough.

We had fish and chips for dinner so that no-one would have to cook.
