We set off early to get back to Barraba before sunset. We had a pretty good trip, stopping at Warwick for coffee and Glen Innes for lunch.
The first thing we did was to put on the gas fire to try and bring the house back to habitable a temperature.
We unloaded the car and settled down for rest.
I had to get a gas bottle refill and I had to pick up a cement mixer from the local hardware store so I got the Motley out. The cement mixer needed one of the tyres re-inflating so I took the rig to the local BP servo.
We did the laundry and dealt with the mail and the email.
Jean had another appointment with the physio in the morning and I did a bit of shopping. The physio says Jean is making progress so that's a good thing.
I spent most of the day working on the dump point database because my colleague, Russ, had asked for a copy of the NSW list and I needed to do a good deal of work to format the list so he could read it.
In the evening we went to the Lions Club Ladies Night. I was inducted as a member and we had a very pleasant evening with some really nice people. When we came to go home at about ten, the windscreen of the Little Motley was covered with frost. Spraying the washer on it only made it worse. I scrubbed it with a handkerchief and we drove the short distance home with a limited view of the road but we arrived safely. I will have to get a windscreen blanket if we are going to go out on these cold winter evenings.
It was extremely cold overnight and it stayed cold well into the morning. It took several hours to get the house warm. I had developed a sore throat so plans for more renovation work got put back again.
In the evening we went to the wine club meeting. The presentation was by a local winery in Delungra which we had planned to visit sometime. The wine was pretty good and we bought a couple of bottles. We got on very well with the owners and promised to visit their cellar door when next we go to Inverell.
