We had to start the journey to Griffith as we planned to spend the best part of the previous week at the Highway Wanderers gathering at the High School.
I collected the email as this would be the last chance for some time and we had smoko with the folks at Sherwood Forest before setting off to the west, heading for Goondiwindi and the Newell Highway.
The countryside around here is quite beautiful at present. The rain has produced lots of green and the rolling hills look very lush.
We stopped in Boonah to shop. This is a quite pretty town with a very narrow main street but with loading zones just right for parking the Motley.
As we drove towards Aratula the local radio station was playing Night & Day!.
We lunched at the rest area on top of the Cunningham Gap and settled in for the night at the Washpool Camping Ground at Lake Leslie which we first visited in 1999. With no-one within 500 metres, we had a most peaceful night.
