Leaving Dirranbandi behind us, we drove on to St George. This town is set on the banks of the Balonne River and has a very pleasant park all along the river bank.
We did a little shopping and went to the park for lunch. We were surprised to see Jerry and Linda who travel in a semi-trailer motorhome called the Ozmobile. We spent some time chatting with them and discovered that they had been to the local winery and had been invited to camp there. We decided to try the wine ourselves and seek a similar offer.
A little later a motorbike drove up and stopped outside the Motley. I suggested to Jean that the postman was delivering mail but it was another motorhomer who had spied the Motley and dropped by to exchange greetings.
We spent the last hour of the day tasting and buying wine and the following couple of hours in the winery garden drinking some of the wine we had bought with Jerry and Linda. Very pleasant.
I had left the Motley in the winery carpark last night so we got up early and drove into town to buy the newspapers and do the laundry.
We returned to the winery for lunch and settled in to a suitable spot.
In the afternoon I changed the oil in the generator and fired up the airconditioner for a bit of relief from the weather which has turned very warm.
We happy houred with Jerry and Linda under a beautiful blue evening sky.
