We had to go to Mitchelton to book Jean's flight to England. It was a good thing we did as the cheap seats for early August are getting scarce. She is booked on Royal Brunei on Saturday 11th August returning on 8th September. She plans to stay in London for a day and then take the bus to Stanstead where she will pick up a hire car and drive to Thetford.
The new part for the electric steps arrived from Winnebago so I will be able to mend it while we are in Carters Ridge.
We took on fuel at Lawnton, where it is cheaper than in Brisbane or on the highway. We also used the dump station at Wyllie Park in Petrie.
We arrived at Carters Ridge at about four to find Robert and Marjorie still there as they had only just finished the installation of a new swish rolling flyscreen door for their motorhomeHelene entertained us with some really good pumpkin soup and a tasty trifle followed by hilarious readings from Phillip's new Australian Joke Book.
Jean, Helene and Marjorie went op-shopping in the morning. They all had a good time and bought some interesting things; Jean bought, for $1, a backrest just like the one she had paid $50 for at the physiotherapist on Thursday. We'll keep them both as they are comfortable and good for our backs.
I spent the morning mending the electric steps. It good to have them back in operation but I felt like I'd been through the wringer by time I had finishedIn the afternoon Phillip, Helene, Robert and Marjorie went to a "new age" fair at Cooran. They came back early and don't plan to go next year.
Lay day.
After morning tea, Robert and Marjorie left to head north. The rest of us, with the exception of Phillip, rested. Phillip is deeply immersed in preparing his new rest area book. He wants it to be available for the Canberra rally so he must get it set up and printed in three months.
