We had appoinments with the hairdresser and the physiotherapist in the morning. We had lunch, broke camp and headed for Imbil where the Suncoasters are having a chapter meeting. There was a bit of a traffic jam on the Bruce Highway between Yandina and Cooroy caused by the continuing road works but we arrived in time for happy hour.
We had a very pleasant weekend despite a lot of rain on Saturday which put a bit of a dampner on the chapter birthday celebrations. The Suncoasters are always very welcoming and there is not a skerrick of cliquishness about them. We had lunch at the Railway Hotel on Sunday. We watched the Rattler arrive from Gympie and we walked over the see the subsequent historical re-enactment. It is a bit surprising how popular Imbil is for such a small, out of the way town but the locals put in a considerable effort and they are rewarded with a significant audience which does a lot to keep the town alive.
