Getting out of our camp site in the caravan park proved to be a bit of a challenge as we had been surrounded by tents. Having asked some campers to move their chairs and other gear, we managed to manoeuvre carefully between two tents and finally escaped to freedom. We visited Wyllie Park briefly before settling in at the showground.
We went to Nundah to hang out with Al. He was feeling well enough to take us to lunch at Cafe on Course in Ascot. Because the coffee had been brutalised by a very incompetent barista, both Al and Jean decided that we should find another cafe next time we visit Ascot.
The Little Motley is going in for service tomorrow so we borrowed the Beep overnight.
Off very early to Kedron driving the two cars in convoy to drop the Terios in to the Daihatsu service depot at Kedron. We had some time to kill before Tai Chi so we did some shopping at Lutwyche Centro.
After Tai Chi, we went back to the Motley to do some sewing for Al before going to Aspley for a doctor's appointment.
We picked up the Terios and returned the Beep to Al's place before returning to Lawnton. By dinner time I was feeling decidedly second hand.
As I was still unwell, we decided to take a lay day.
We had brunch at Cafe Zanetti with Sarah, the kids and Al and we went back to Patricks Road to solve Sarah's problem displaying Power Point presentations.
In the afternoon, we went to Newstead to have dinner with Glennis and John. Sheree, a friend of Glennis's and a Tai Chi person who we had met at the launch party for Uncarved Women, was another guest. We all talked of our travelling experiences over the years.
We went early to Aspley to get blood tests and then back to the Motley for breakfast.
I had arranged to change the armchair for the one which is now in Al's flat that we took out of the Motley when we put the filing cabinet in three years ago. We went to Nundah to see how Al is getting on. He was still suffering from the inability to eat anything substantial so I took hom to the doctor. He signed Al off work for a month and ordered a blood test and an ultrasound exam of a lump in the chest.
We heard from the solicitor that we are now officially landowners.
Jean had a CAT scan to check for any nasty reasons for her headaches. The radiologist seemed unconcerned and didn't do a dye contrast scan which was good. We'll get the results on Thursday.
The weather had turned wet and cooler and we were both feeling under par so, apart from the short trip to the x-ray place, we stayed indoors all day.
Al rang to say that his ultrasound found nothing and his blood test showed that he was improving. The doctor advised him to have a fat free diet for some time and no alcohol for at least two years!.
We did some administrative chores, had some lunch.
We went to Nundah to see Al. He seemed more relaxed today though he is still weak because he is not able to eat much.
We went to the doctor to get the results of the blood tests and the CAT Scan. Everything is normal and the headaches Jean suffers from are probably stress-induced and can be treated with over-the-counter analgesics.
The doctor also put in place Multidisciplinary Care Plan for Jean which will provide free referrals to paramedical services such as dieticians, podiatrists and physiotherapists.
We went to town to buy Al a birthday present and dropped it in to him on the way back to Lawnton. He seemed a deal better today and he was really pleased with his present. We won't see him for a month and hope that he looks after himself and gets better while we're away.
Up early to do the laundry. Breakfast at Macas which was a big mistake. Something we ate yesterday either at Subway or Cafe Zanetti caused some grief. I had had clear soup for tea last night and thought I was OK but I wasn't.
We didn't go to Tai Chi but I did wash the Motley. It was very dirty and we won't get another chance before we go to the rally so it was pretty necessary. All chores done by lunchtime so we went to Patricks Road in time for the kids coming home from school.
