We have only 300 km (200 mIles) to go to Horsham and we have a week left so there is no hurry.

We drove to Seymour where we were confronted by a low bridge so we had to detour round the town.

There were some camp sites which needed surveys up the highway towards Wangaratta so we decided to take a bit of a detour.

We stopped at the freeway service centre and put in 134 litres of diesel. I had failed to notice how far we had gone and we were 30 km (20 miles) from empty so I had a lucky escape.

This route would take us into the fruit fly exclusion zone so I asked at the service centre where we fuelled up for some specific information about what can and what can't be taken into the zone. They said they were too far from the zone to have any information and I should try further north. I went into the Tourist Information Centre in Euroa with but they said that they had asked for some brochures but they hadn't been sent. In Benalla, though the ladies were keen to help, they couldn't find any information at all. I gave up at this point realising that I will have to get the information from the relevant Government department in each state if I want to compile an accurate dossier.

We stopped at Mokoan Rest Area to do the site survey and we found a patch of bush which is used for overnight camping so we settled in for the night. There is a nice view over the lake but it is a bit noisy with all the heavy traffic going by all night.

We camped next to some caravaners who were on longish holidays and had a bit of a chat with them.
