I had kept the grey water tank closed because we were right by the water and I thought I should obey the rules of the Self-containment Scheme. After three days the tank was full so I had to move to find an appropriate place to dump the grey water.
We drove to the next campsite which was only 25 km (16 miles) down the road. It is on the banks of the Campaspe River and is very pretty with lots of birds, lots of trees, and with the river right outside the Motley.
The weather was much as they say it is in Victoria, four seasons in a day. It was overcast and it rained quite hard as we were driving along. After we had settled in, the sun came out. Then the clouds closed in again and the wind got up. Later we had more sunshine and the evening was cold, dry and quiet.
During the evening, Jean heard a mouse scratching somewhere close by so I set the trap. Very soon I heard it go off and we had caught the damned thing. I set the trap again just in case it wasn't alone.
It is so pleasant here that we decided to stay on for another day.
I booked into the caravan park in Horsham for a couple of days so that we can register the car and the trailer in Victoria, do the laundry, and charge the batteries before we go to the rally.
During the morning, Jean noticed that the cheese was gone from the mousetrap so I had to set it again and every time I checked it the damned mouse had stolen the bait. After many failed attempts, I changed from soft cheese to bacon rind and we caught another mouse. I re-set the trap to find out if there were more mice.
