Sunday 3rd

The day dawned bright but we were both a bit under the weather. We had an indulgence breakfast and I moved the Motley to dump the black water into the sewer inspection point which I had found in the front garden.

As I was dumping, Dave, our next door neighbour came over to watch. He is planning to convert an old coach to a motorhome and is interested in all things motorhoming. I gave him a back issue of the Wanderer to read and suggested that he use the application form in it to join the club as an Associate Member so that he will get the benefit of the Wanderer every month. He asked how we find places to dump when we are on the road so I lent him my copy of Camps Australia Wide 3 to show him how useful it is.

I veged out in front of the TV while Jean had an afternoon sleep. It is really cosy sitting in front of the fire watching the big screen.

We retired to the Motley but stayed up to watch the whole of Stage 2 of the Tour de France.

Monday 4th

In the morning, I waited in for the gasfitter but he didn't turn up. He rang in the afternoon to say he would be here early tomorrow.

In the afternoon I finished the preparation of the bedroom walls ready for painting.

Tuesday 5th

The gas fitter came to install the gas bottles, the gas outlets, and the pipe work. I had removed the electric stove and spent some time getting the new gas stove set up. He didn't have a flexible lead for the stove so we couldn't get it working. When he had finished he tested it on the gas fire and found that the fan switch was broken. I'll have to take the fire back to Elgas in Tamworth.

Wednesday 6th

We spent the morning chatting with Vicki who came to tell us about the arrangements for the wine tasting ion Saturday week. In the afternoon, I cooked some curry.

Thursday 7th

The gas fitter turned up early to fit the flexible lead to the stove. The stove is now working and ready to cook.

As it was still relatively early, we decided top go to Tamworth to get the gas heater fixed. They were very accommodating and replaced the heater with a new one. We called in to Spotlight to buy some stuff. We had lunch at The Homestead and I downloaded the emails and some Apple software updates. We went to Bunnings to check out the kitchen cupboards, and laundry and bathroom equipment. We came away with some ideas but we need to get the quote from The Kitchen Men before we make a final decision.

The new gas heater is really good. It warms the room up very quickly even on cold nights and keeps the room warm on a low setting. I'll keep an eye on the gas consumption but I believe that it will be cheaper than the wood fire because it is only on when it is needed.

Friday 8th

We had to go to the medical centre for fasting blood tests. I was a bit off colour so I veged out for most of the day.

Saturday 9th

I had to get up early to put out the electric bucket because it started raining.

In the afternoon, I found some enthusiasm and painted the walls in the bedroom.
