It was a bit warmer overnight but I still felt pretty second hand so the work was all sedentary.
We had a visit from a member of the Lions Club inviting me to attend a couple of meetings over the next couple of weeks so that I can be inducted into the Club. Unfortunately, the Induction Meeting is in late June and we had planned to be in Queensland. We'll have to see what is the best thing to do.
I had some outstanding things I needed to get done for the CMCA so I spent most of the day indoors.
We both sat out the back in the sun for afternoon tea.
The weather has warmed up a bit so we are not suffering from freezing water supply at the moment.
I spent the day working at the computer with the odd break for coffee.
I did the final piece of work for the club and finished an analysis of the NZ dump points.
In the afternoon I tried to make some scones instead of buying them. I have a fair bit of work to do to get up to the standard of the Barraba bakery but I can only try.
Another clear bright day. I bought a hedge trimmer and trimmed the hedge and gathered up all the clippings and put them on the scrap heap. That was about as much as I was able to do in the way of physical work. The hedge was looking a bit second hand due the the lack of rain so I use some tank water to give it thorough soaking given that the town water is subject to restrictions. I measured the amount of water taken out of the tank and realised that I can't afford to do this regularly. I will presumably have to water it with a hand held hose in the evening.
In the evening I went to my second Lions Club meeting as a guest. I made a presentation about the CMCA, the Self-containment Scheme, and the Adopt-a-Rest Area scheme. They were most impressed with my story about the President of the Lions Club in Gayndah who made us promise to tell all our friends that we were all always welcome to stay in the Lions Park. I enjoyed the meeting and promised to attend the next one in a fortnight which will qualify me to join the Club and be inducted at the meeting in mid June.
I found some enthusiasm and some energy so I started work on the bathroom renovation. The first job was to fill the gaps in the cement floor. I wasn't looking forward to this because I haven't any experience in doing cement work and I know that errors are easy to commit but hard to rectify. I chose the smaller job for starters and it came out pretty well. I was quite tired by this job but satisfied that it is underway again and going all right.
There was a Wine Club meeting scheduled for tonight. The theme is Italian and we are expected to bring food as well as wine. I thought there would be many kinds of pasta so I thought to do a dessert. Zabaglione would be too hard to do in the circumstances so I selected Tiramisu. I found a recipe on the net which was possible with the limited range of stuff I could buy in Barraba It was an American Quick and Easy version using packet cake. The first effort was burnt in the oven so I had to do a second. It turned out a total disaster so we sent our apologies to the meeting and stayed in.
