May 2013Wonderful helpFriday , 31st May 2013Alain and Rachel were staying in Barraba at Sarahs place 71 Henry St, this morning they drove us to Tamworth where we needed to do some shopping and cafe visits. After we got back to Barraba they came came to our place, Currawinya 43 Gotha Street to do work that I hadn't done. Rachel treated the boards in the back deck and the back lawn ramp with Tung oil and Linseed oil, that was a marvelous job. Alain fitted a curtain rod for a new curtain in the hall entrance to the kitchen, this was much appreciated. Yesterday Alain and Ross used my clipping machine to trim our hedge which had grown too much. They were both unhappy with the bad feelings of that work so I did some small work to finish the job. The hedge now looks really good. I am sure our neighbours will be pleased with what was done just like we are. Sad issueFriday, 17th May 2013Sadly the RTA has got a medical report from my GP Dr Gunesekera to renew my drivers licence recently. The report said that I had Dementia and I needed a driving test to prove that my driving was OK. The local RTA Office set a driving test appointment. The RTA Head Office wrote me a letter which said that they didn't approve of the arrangement to give me a driving test and that they needed to cancel my licence.. I spoke to them on the phone and they asked me to get Dr Gunesekera to send them a Fax which indicated his technical opinion. He said that I was fit to drive. A letter from RTA indicated that they had not changed their decision but they offered that we could go to court to disapprove of their decision. We realised that we couldn't afford to do that so I had to hand in my licence and arrange for Jean to do all of our driving. |
